Many, many thanks to all the parents, staff, families and friends who supported the Round Square Christmas Fair on Friday 1 December. This was the first time that these two annual events - the Round Square Fair and the Christmas Treats evening - had been combined and everyone agreed that the event was a huge success, and should be an annual traditional annual event.
The girls had worked extremely hard, preparing a wide range of international treats for their café, decorating Santa's Grotto, and organising a Beauty Salon, a Name the Penguin competition and much more.
In the Gilt Hall, local craft businesses brought a variety of wares for sale, including jewellery, cards & prints, shoes, bags and candles. Local practitioners of reflexology, Indian head massage and back massage also offered their services so that exhausted shoppers could spend a relaxing half hour before returning to the fray.
Visitors were greeted with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie before making their way to the very busy stalls and café. Christmas music played gently in the background, making way occasionally for the student choir who sang carols round the Christmas tree.
The event raised over £700 for the school's Round Square fund, which this year is supporting Cancer Research and the RSPCA, as well as the long term projects of sponsorship for a student in Kenya and support of a school in Botswana.
