When news of the earthquake in China reached our international community, it did not take long for the Chinese students to mobilise support for fundraising. A group of Art students designed and produced note cards featuring some of their A Level artwork, which they offered for sale at the Summer Open Evening and the Round Square Summer Fair.

A very moving assembly was given by the Chinese students, explaining the extent of the disaster and how it had affected the lives of those who lived in the devasted area.
Girls made 'rainbow' badges which were offered to staff and students for a contribution to the growing fund.
Group 2 decided to put on a play for parents, staff and fellow students and, in a remarkably short time, they put on an excellent production of 'Fossils'.
The Summer Fair is always a very successful fundraising event, and the profits are donated to one or more of the charities which the girls have chosen to support in the current year. This year it was decided to give 70% of the money to the earthquake appeal.
When all the monies were totalled at the end of term, the sum of
£771
was sent to the British Red Cross China Earthquake Appeal.
Well done to all the girls who organised and supported all the fundraising activities!
