Christmas Fair raises over £1000 for Charity
Christmas festivities at Cobham Hall started with the annual Round Square Christmas Fair which raised £1029.33.
The Fair was packed with visitors - all willing and ready to spend their money to support this year's chosen Round Square Charities. Cancer Research and the Campaign for Female Education. Funds will also be used for the purchase of a computer for a school in Bangladesh and continued support for school fees for a student in Kenya.
Traditional mulled wine and mince pies were served in the Entrance Hall and the school choirs sang carols round the tree.
Father Christmas had a very busy time - visiting all the stalls, singing with the choir and handing out presents to younger visitors in his grotto. Fortunately the Cobham Hall Elves were there to help him out.
Seasonal festivities continued until the end of term. The Mayor of Gravesham, the Mayor of Dartford and the High Sheriff of Kent came to the Christmas Assembly and judged the Christmas Cake competition and helped to stir the school's Christmas pudding.
In the last week of term, Modern Foreign Languages department organised Assembly in which the Christmas story was told in Spanish.
Staff and students sat down to a traditional Christmas meal on the Tuesday, and on the final day of term, the Carol Service was held in Cobham Church, followed by mulled wine and mince pies in the Gilt Hall.
