We welcomed three very special visitors to school on Wednesday 9 December.

The Mayor of Gravesham, Councillor Bronwen McGarrity, the Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Jennifer Rickwood, and the High Sheriff of Kent, Mrs Jane Rogers came to join in the school's traditional Christmas assembly.

As staff and girls assembled in the Gilt Hall, the school orchestra set the scene with carols.  The history of the pudding was told, and then the flaming pudding made its entrance.

The visitors then helped chef stir the pudding mix which will be used to make the puddings for the school Christmas dinner.

The visitors were also asked to judge the Christmas Cake competition.  Each House had decorated a cake, under the tuition of Mrs Windiate, who is an expert in sugar craft.  This year's winner was Lenox House, with a delightful trio of singing angels.

Mrs Windiate awarded prizes for the best decorators, with the Lenox team of Vicky Fung and Beatrix von Beissel winning first prize and the Darnley team of Georgia Newall and Robyn Fuller close runners up.

Each of our visitors was presented with a cake to donate to a charity of their choice for Christmas.

The assembly finished with the whole company singing 'O come all ye faithful'.
