Cute pets raise money for charity
Many ‘Oohs’ and ‘Aahs’ have been emanating from the Stone Corridor in recent weeks as a result of Group 3G’s competition to find Cobham’s cutest and funniest pets. Staff and students responded enthusiastically to a request to bring in photographs of their pet and within a short time the Stone Corridor notice boards were transformed.
The rules were simple: firstly, photographs had to be taken by the entrant and secondly, the pet had to belong to the entrant or his/her immediate family. There was an entry fee of £1 per photograph and the entry forms had to include the pet’s name, owner’s name and the pet’s likes and dislikes. The competition soon hotted up and the rivalry between staff members in particular was very strong. There were even attempts to bribe the judges!
There were some wonderful photographs: dogs using Facebook or snoozing in their baskets, cats in the doll’s pram and on the dressing table, some very fetching guinea pigs and hamsters and even a football-playing rabbit, not to mention the stick insects! Such was the response that the deadline had to be extended and the judges, Miss Didzinskiene, Mr Geldard and Mrs Gourlay, had an almost impossible task deciding on the winners. However, eventually six prizes of medals and chocolates were awarded to the following:
Here are Tinki Winki, Keia and Hector!
