Marathon Runner

The atmosphere of the London Marathon was incredible, I was determined to absorb the entire experience. Spectators were high-fiving runners, priests stood outside churches sprinkling holy-water over the runners and there were bands playing everywhere.
My training meant that I comfortably got to 20 miles, however this is where my legs started to cramp, my knees were sore, blisters rubbed, but the crowds always shouted encouragement. Crossing the finish line, I felt shock. I could hardly think, I had been running constantly for 4:48:09 and I was exhausted. The marathon has easily been one of the best experiences I have ever had and yes, I would do it again.
Lisa Reid raised over £1,000 for her chosen charity – Victa, which provides support for blind and partially sighted children.
