Music Workshop & Concert - 9 March 2007
On Friday 9 March, students from six local Prep and Junior schools came to Cobham Hall to make music - under the direction of Head of Music, Mrs Deborah Wallace. The visitors, some as young as 7, worked together with music students of all ages from Cobham Hall in a variety of instrumental and orchestral workshops.
At the end of a very busy day, energy levels were still high and the students staged a concert in the Gilt Hall for their parents and teachers. The performances ranged from the full orchestra performing pieces as diverse as 'Fandango' and 'Sniffer Dog Blues' to solo performances on violin, flute, piano and electric guitar.
For some students, it was the first time they had played in an orchestra, and possibly the first time they had performed in public! To make your debut performance in a venue as impressive as the Gilt Hall was a wonderful experience!
This annual event is part of a programme run by Cobham Hall, which offers staff and students from local schools the opportunity to benefit from the school's wonderful environment and facilities.
