Round Square Christmas Fair raises over £1000 for charity

The 2007 Christmas Fair was held on Friday 30 December and the evening was a huge success, raising over £1000 for the charities supported by the school's Round Square fund.

Students organised a wide range of stalls, including home made cakes and sweets, sweet and savory canapés, cards and gifts.  Parents, staff and friends enjoyed  a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie, and smart waitresses circulated with trays of sweet and savoury canapés.  The Gilt Hall was packed with professional craft stalls selling everything from jewellery to boots, candles to original paintings.  Younger visitors had the opportunity to meet Father Christmas in his grotto.

To add to the festive feeling, the girls sang carols beside the Christmas tree - joined by Santa and accompanied by Head of Music, Mrs Wallace.

As a Round Square school, Cobham Hall raises money to support many charities and Round Square projects.  The school funds the school fees for a student at Starehe School in Kenya and also supports an AIDS orphanage in Botswana.  This year, the girls' chosen charities for support are Cancer Research, Demelza House and the NSPCC.
