Financial Times Top 1000 Schools
Cobham Hall was ranked 368 in the recently published Financial Times Top 1000 Schools annual report.
To rank above many large, selective schools in the country was an excellent result for our mixed ability school. Small classes and dedicated teaching are the key to this success, ensuring that every student is supported according to her needs, and achieves her maximum potential. This is reflected in excellent results in core subjects, including 100% pass rate at A or B grade in Maths and Chemistry.
The FT report focuses on academic achievement in core subjects, and includes A Level results from all independent, grammar and comprehensive schools that fulfil the criteria of having at least 20 pupils entered for any exams at A Level, and an average of at least two A Levels per entrant.
We certainly had much to celebrate in the 2007 A Level examinations. Out of 27 candidates entered, five students gained places at Oxford colleges to read a variety of subjects, one student went on to Imperial College London, and one student gained a place at the LSE to study Actuarial Science, one of the most rigorous of university courses
As a Round Square school, we share the belief that young people should be prepared for real life through challenge, service, adventure and international understanding. A wide range of extra curricular activities and opportunities to develop initiative and leadership skills ensure that our students benefit from all aspects of the unique educational experience at Cobham Hall.
