Oh, What a Lovely Production
Parents, staff and guests, together with fellow students, thoroughly enjoyed the Drama Department's production of Joan Littlewood's musical entertainment 'Oh What a Lovely War!'.
Girls from throughout school performed - including what must be the smallest drill sergeant ever seen! Drill practice in East Court after school was supervised by Mr Curran and Mr Lane - ensuring authentic delivery of the classic line 'You horrible lot!'
Four girls visited the Royal Engineers Museum in Gillingham at the kind invitation of Mr Dunn, the Museum's Director. The collection of archive photographs and military equipment, including an extremely realistic reconstruction of a WWI trench, gave the girls a powerful insight into the realities of the war.
The cast thoroughly enjoyed working with girls from all year groups, and should be congratulated on an excellent production of what is a very challenging play.
