Miss Richards attended The University of Kent and graduated in 2014 with a degree in Social Policy. She then decided to stay on in Canterbury for a further year, having moved away from her home town, Windsor. Shortly after graduating, Miss Richards started working with disadvantaged young people aged 16-18 years old, following on from this along with aspects of her degree, she became very interested in the welfare and pastoral side of education.
Pastoral care is a vital part of school life, which is especially important in a boarding school setting. Miss Richards was therefore attracted to the Graduate Housemistress role at Cobham Hall: being able to see first-hand the importance of student support in the classroom as well as in home life, after school and weekends, hoping to support and encourage the girls through all of life’s ups and downs.
Miss Richards hopes to gain that all important experience and learn about the everyday life of a boarding Cobham Hall girl, whilst taking advantage of everything that Cobham Hall, and being a Housemistress, has to offer.
