World without Vision

All of Group 1 took part in a workshop called World without Vision. A blind gentleman named Mr Alan Brown came to spend the morning with Group 1 explaining what it is like to be blind.

We tried on different glasses that simulated different forms of visual impairment. Mr Brown and his helper Maria, showed us how we can offer assistance to blind people on the street and in a restaurant. The most important thing we learned was to treat disabled people as people and not ignore them.
 

We had lots of questions for Mr Brown and we were especially curious as to how he had earned his Blue Peter badge!
