Magnificent Maestros

Last night was the first Maestros' Concert at Cobham Hall; an evening of celebrating the more advanced musicians in our community.  Although music is an integral part of our ethos - we are all inclusive in both choir and orchestra - it is also right to acknowledge the more advanced once a certain level is reached.

The evening saw performances from girls across the School.  Flute, Piano, Voice, and Cello were all represented, but unusually so were marimba, vibraphone, and snare drum. For many of the girls performing, the concert provided opportunity to practice prior to the weekend's Maidstone Music Festival. For one, it provided practice and celebration.  Our young percussionist, Harriet, recently won the Canterbury Festival Young Musician's Bursary Concert, and has been selected to take part in the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition.

Well done and good luck to all our young competitors!
