A Tied Tournament

This week saw the Inter-House Netball tournament with teams of girls representing the four School Houses – Clifton, Darnley, Lenox and Richmond.

In the closest tournament the School has ever seen, the result was a four-way tie after all games had been played. The Seniors played first, before lunchtime, with teams comprising of girls from Years 10 to 13.  The results for the Seniors was as follows:

  1. Clifton
  2. Lenox
  3. Darnley
  4. Richmond

The Juniors played after lunch, giving results which were an exact reversal of the outcome of the Seniors’ matches:

  1. Richmond
  2. Darnley
  3. Lenox
  4. Clifton

Announcing the result to the Juniors, Head of PE Mrs Hooper said, “The standard of play today has been excellent.  It’s be so close that all four Houses are tied. We think that’s the first time it’s ever happened.  Well done, girls!”

After working out the goal difference with Miss Lambert, the results were announced in assembly today. Incredibly, first and second place were separated by just one goal!

  1. Lenox
  2. Richmond
  3. Darnley
  4. Clifton

The House Captains for each House awarded commendations to:

Clifton Seniors - Tami and Jenny
Clifton Juniors - Alicia, Rebekah and Olivia
Darnley Seniors - Lili
Darnley Juniors - Rebecca, Bo and Natasha
Lenox Seniors – Maisy and Langa
Lenox Juniors - Trinity and Felicity
