Teaching Assistant

Cobham Hall is seeking to recruit a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a popular and supportive Student Support Department and support students in Key Stage 3 and 4 in a variety of subjects.

For this role, a contribution to the wider life of the School, both in pastoral and co-curricular activities is expected.

A successful candidate will have excellent IT and interpersonal skills, be able to motivate and inspire students at all levels, work as part of the Department and the wider whole School staff team, and be a good administrator.

Appropriate Teaching Assistant qualifications are preferred and experience in supporting students with specific learning difficulties and students on the autistic spectrum is a requirement.

Chef

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate chef to join our busy kitchen at Cobham Hall School. This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful team. Working alongside our Head Chef, you will support and prepare fresh seasonal meals for pupils and staff, as well as for functions and other showcase events held at Cobham Hall. You will be a key member of a small team and will therefore assist in maintaining our high standards of hygiene in the kitchen.

The successful candidate will be organised, able to prioritise and have a flexible approach. A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, NVQ Level 2 Chef Qualification or equivalent, and full knowledge of Heath & Safety, HACCP AND COSHH Regulations and associated Codes of Practice are essential. A minimum of two years’ catering/kitchen experience in a similar role, experience working within a fresh food background, and both high volume and fine dining experience are required, as is the ability to plan time effectively and organise with forethought, showing meticulous attention to detail.

This is a permanent, full time, full year position.

Cleaner

We are seeking an experienced cleaner to join our team at Cobham Hall School. This is an exciting opportunity to work under the direction of the Catering and Domestic Support Services Manager and to ensure the school is kept clean and hygienic.

For this role you will be responsible, individually or as part of a team, for undertaking the cleaning of designated areas within educational premises. This will include cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bin, polishing and dusting of the designated areas, (which may include toilets and shower areas), and fixture and fittings, using where appropriate, powered equipment.

A good level of literacy and numeracy are essential, as well as the ability to work to a timed schedule. A successful candidate will have a sense of initiative and self-motivation, a positive approach to learning and the ability to work well in a team.

This is a permanent, full time, full year position.

Receptionist

We are seeking a Receptionist to act as the first point of contact for Cobham Hall School. Reporting to the School Office Manager, the Receptionist is responsible for all reception duties. This front of house role is varied and the standard of work reflects greatly on the School.

A high standard of English, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will also have good organisational skills and the ability to work on their own initiative.

A calm and approachable nature, exceptional professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion are of extreme importance. A background of working in education is desirable although not essential.

Artist-in-Residence

We require an Artist in Residence to join the Art Department for the academic year 2022/23.

The School is looking for an energetic artist who is keen to develop their own creative practice within a busy Art department and at the same time is able and willing to inspire and enthuse our students. The successful candidate is likely to have an interest in Art education. The position does not come with financial remuneration, but food, residential accommodation and studio space are provided as well as support from teaching staff and use of other School facilities.

The Art Department has two large art studios, a workshop, a Mac digital suite, photographic studio and dark- room, a kiln room and well stocked resource room. We also enjoy the services of a part-time technician.

We teach Art at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level, in small groups, and we cover a wide range of disciplines including: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, ceramics and mixed media. We are always looking to expand and develop what we offer.
