Cobham Hall’s Board of Governors is drawn from a variety of professional fields, united in the common goal of overseeing and safeguarding the continual growth and development of the School.


Mr M Pennell

Chair of the Board of Governors

Ex-Partner in the real estate group of a leading firm of solicitors in the City. 

Over 25 years’ experience of dealing with property-related matters.  Also a Trustee of Cobham Hall Heritage Trust.


Mr J Dick

Chair of Finance & General Purposes Committee

Parent of former student.

A Director of Capital Blue who has over 30 years of financial experience. A former Senior Executive of both Barclays Bank and Woolwich Plc and a past Managing Director of Sedgwick Financial Consultants.  


Mrs S Webb

Chair of the Education, Staff & Welfare Committee

Member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee

Former Headmistress of Hilden Oaks School and Nursery.  Deputy Head at Kings School Rochester.  Boarding House Mistress and Prep School Teacher for over twenty years.  Member of IAPS and Head Teacher mentor.  Prep School Inspector for ISI. 

Leisure pursuits:  Dog walking, gardening, horse riding, reading and travelling. 


Mrs L Ellis

Parent of former student.

A Trustee of Cobham Hall Heritage Trust and member of the Committee of The Friends of Cobham Hall Heritage Trust. Former Chairman of Cobham Parish Council. 


Mr M Frost

Member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee

Round Square Governor

Parent of current student.

Head of Life, Beazley Group at Lloyd’s of London.  Worked in the London Insurance market for over 25 years.   


Mrs S McRitchie

Member of the Education, Staff & Welfare Committee

Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Governor 

Parent of former student.

Editorial Director of business-to-business publishing company, with 25 years’ experience in journalism.  Elder of the School. 


Dr K O’Neill-Byrne

Member of the Education, Staff & Welfare Committee

Safe-Guarding Governor

Parent of current student.

Doctor in the NHS appointed to consultant post in 1994.  Returned VSO volunteer (Belize 1990-1992) with experience of developing mental health services for a whole country.  Retired trustee of the Good Rock Foundation, a charity working in North-West China.   Special interest in languages and international development.

Member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee

Member of the Education, Staff & Welfare Committee

Parent of former student.

Former Regional Director of the National Care Standards Commission - Sussex. Former Chairman of the Unicorn Association.  Former Chair of Governors.  Also a Trustee of Cobham Hall Heritage Trust.


Mr G Smith

Member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee

Director of a wealth management consultancy, with over 30 years’ experience in the wealth management industry.   A former Investment Director at Coutts, and Senior Manager at Duncan Lawrie.
