Head of Science Faculty

(Full Time)

Required for September 2019

We require a well-qualified Biology teacher for the position of Head of Science Faculty. We are looking for an experienced, energetic and dynamic teacher to lead the Faculty and promote high quality learning in a range of abilities from KS3 to KS5. The successful candidate will also be required to lead, promote and develop a STEM programme. Salary will be according to experience and qualifications.

Caretaker

We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic person to join our Maintenance team on the day shift.

The successful candidate will be a willing, conscientious individual whose responsibility it is to undertake a range of tasks including general caretaking, minor repair, maintenance, and decorating work, driving duties (therefore must have full driving licence), security checks etc. and key is a willingness to contribute to the continued improvement of our School.  Full training will be given.

Good communication and customer service skills are essential as you will have regular contact with children, members of staff and function clients.

  • Rate of Pay is £8.21 per hour.
  • 39 hours per week.
  • 3-week rotating shift pattern.  6.30am to 3.00pm, 10.00am to 6.30pm and 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
  • Additional Hours may be required.
  • 195 hours’ holiday per year plus bank holidays, although in line with your roster you may be required to work bank holidays.
  • Benefits include a two course lunch daily, death in service insurance and contributory pension scheme.

Graduate Housemistress

Required for September 2019

We require a Graduate Housemistress to work in one of our Boarding Houses with girls of a range of ages, abilities and backgrounds. This is a one year residential post and accommodation will be provided in the Boarding House.  The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for pastoral care and a sensitivity to the needs of young people living away from home. Salary is currently £15,000 per annum pro-rata.

Examinations Officer and Database Manager

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic person who would relish the opportunity to lead on and have strategic oversight of the implementation, management and use of the School’s data management systems.  The successful candidate will also be required to manage all aspects of the School’s examination systems.  Salary will be £25,000 per annum pro-rata which equates £20,288 per annum.

It is essential that the successful candidate has knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding policies and procedures and a good working knowledge of current best practice in school examination requirements.

The post-holder will work from 08.30 to 17.00 (includes an hour unpaid lunch break), Monday to Friday for 37 weeks a year, which will comprise term time, plus 4 weeks, such times to be agreed from time to time to meet the requirements of the job.  Note that, as an independent school, Cobham Hall’s holiday dates will vary from other schools, please check our website for details.

General Assistant (Domestic)

We require a General Assistant to work weekends within our Household & Functions Department. 

Hours of work are 06.30 to 12.30 on a Saturday and Sunday; times can be varied by agreement. Rate of pay is £7.83 per hour.  Benefits include a contributory pension scheme.

The successful candidate will be required to lift, make beds and perform those tasks associated with general cleaning of classrooms, accommodation, sports halls and meeting rooms.  Good communication is essential as you will have regular contact with children, members of staff and on occasions function clients.

Own transport is desirable due to location and working hours.

Housemistress

Required for September 2019

We have an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Housemistress to join our vibrant Boarding community. This is a non-teaching post and the Housemistress will be responsible for the Year 7 to 10 Boarding House, providing students with a positive, ‘home from home’ experience of boarding education whilst recognising and meeting the needs of each individual.  In return we can offer a supportive senior leadership team, a modern approach to education with traditional core values and a beautiful setting. Salary will be £20,000 per annum.

Administrator/Receptionist

Cobham Hall is looking to appoint an Administrator/Receptionist to provide administrative support to the School.  You will be proficient in Microsoft Office and be able to take notes of meetings and generate minutes. Knowledge of SIMS is an advantage; however, training will be given. Confident and appropriate communication skills are a must.  You will be expected to liaise with students, parents and guardians, members of the public and School staff with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.

The post-holder will work from 10:00 to 14:00 Monday to Friday for 37 weeks a year, which will comprise term time, plus approximately four weeks, one of which has to be worked during the Easter holiday, two weeks at the beginning of the summer holiday and one week at the end of the summer holiday.  Note that, as an independent school, Cobham Hall’s holiday dates will vary from other schools, please check our website for details.   

Salary is £19,500 per annum, which will be paid on a pro-rata basis.  This is equivalent to an hourly rate of £10.00.  You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday pro-rata to be taken during the School holidays and eight bank holidays on a pro-rata basis.  In total this equates to 26 days paid holiday per annum.
