Head of English Faculty (Maternity Cover)

Required from Easter 2020

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified teacher of English, with the passion and enthusiasm to inspire our students and management experience to lead and enthuse staff.  The successful candidate will be teaching small mixed ability classes of highly motivated students from KS3 through to A level in KS5. The Head of Faculty, will be responsible for managing two full time and two part time members of staff, covering English, Film and Drama.    

Cobham Hall is in school for 32 weeks a year and currently has an additional week set aside for INSET and preparation.  20% PPA is provided. Salary will be according to experience and qualifications.

Laundry Assistant

We are recruiting for a Laundry Assistant to work within our Laundry as soon as possible. 

The successful applicant will be involved in assisting in the collection, laundering, drying, pressing and sorting of clothing and other items for the Boarding Houses and other departments within the School.  You will also be responsible for monitoring and advising to the Catering & Support Domestic Manager, information regarding stock levels and chemical supplies as well as reporting any repairs and/or maintenance issues within the Laundry area.  You will need to have a competent awareness of Health and Safety at work regulations as they apply to the Laundry and be willing to attend any relevant training as required. The successful applicant will ideally have previous laundry experience.

Hours of work are 25 hours per week over a five day week for 52 weeks of the year (includes five weeks paid holiday).  Includes working alternate Saturdays during term time and weekend days as required during School holidays.  Rate of pay is £8.21 per hour.

Teaching Assistant

Cobham Hall is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join our Student Support team.  You will assist teaching staff in the classroom and support students who have additional learning needs and/or have English as an Additional Language.

Salary is dependent on skills and experience but will be in the region of £17,500 per annum pro rata. Hours of work are generally from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. However, the post-holder may be required to assist with prep that takes place between 6.30pm and 8pm with time off in lieu.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We require a  Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our Student Support team.  You will assist teaching staff in the classroom and support students who have additional learning needs and/or have English as an Additional Language on a 1:1 basis.

Salary is dependent on skills and experience but will be in the region of £19,000 - £21,000 pro rata per annum.   Hours of work are generally from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.  The post-holder may be required to assist with prep that takes place between 6.30pm and 8pm.

Personal Assistant to Headmistress

Are you a confident and effective communicator, well organised, proactive and able to work independently?  This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking School as Personal Assistant to the Headmistress.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Experience of providing senior level administrative support
  • Proficiency in using IT systems
  • Proven PA office skills such as minute-taking
  • A high level of emotional intelligence for dealing with a range of stakeholders on a daily basis

The post-holder will work Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 17:00 and Friday from 08:30 to 16:00 (includes an hour unpaid lunch break), for 44 weeks a year.  Holiday entitlement is 25 days pro-rata per annum to be taken during the school holidays.  Note that, as an independent school, Cobham Hall’s holiday dates will vary from other schools, please check our website for details.  Salary will be according to skills and experience but will be in the region of £27,000 to £28,000 pro-rata per annum.
