How to Apply
Thank you for your interest in enrolling at Cobham Hall. This step-by-step guide will take you through our Admissions process.
Step 1: Where to Start
You can request a prospectus or browse our website for information about our courses, boarding life, and teaching staff. Prospective parents and students are always welcome to visit the School, take a tour and meet the Headmistress, staff and students. You can take advantage of our Open Mornings to see Cobham Hall in action, or even arrange a visit at a time to suit you. Your daughter can even have a free trial stay with us, to experience boarding life. And if you still have any questions, please contact our Admissions team on 01474 823371, or via email@example.com, and they will be happy to help! When you’re happy and sure that Cobham Hall is the right place for your daughter, you can move to Step 2: Registration.
Step 2: Registration
To register your daughter for a place at Cobham Hall, simply complete and return the Registration Form, along with the Registration Fee of £100. Payment of this fee can be made by bank transfer for UK families. Families outside of the UK can pay through Flywire and have the option of paying by debit and credit card in their local currency. Please find further details on the registration form. Once registered, your daughter will be invited to move on to Step 3: Entrance Assessments. School reports or grade cards will be requested from your daughter’s current school.
Step 3: Entrance Assessments
Once registered, your daughter will be invited to sit our Entrance Assessments in Mathematics and English. This is to ensure that potential students will be able to benefit from Cobham Hall’s educational experience.
Overseas students who are unable to attend for Entrance Assessments can find out more on our dedicated International Admissions page.
Step 4: Offer of a Place
After taking assessments, having an interview with the Headmistress or another member of senior staff, and upon receipt of reports from your current school, an offer of a place may be made. Skype and phone interviews can be conducted if a potential student is unable to visit the School.
Students who do particularly well in their entrance assessments will be invited to take our General Scholarship Examination. Girls may also have the opportunity to apply for Scholarships in Art, Drama, Music, or Sport. Find out more on our Scholarship page.
Step 5: Acceptance
To confirm your acceptance of our offer and to reserve your daughter’s place, you will be required to sign and return our acceptance form and make payment of the required refundable deposit: EU Resident Boarders – £1,500.00 OR Non EU Resident Boarders – One term’s boarding fees OR UK Day Girls – £750. Payment of this fee can be made by bank transfer for UK families. Families outside of the UK can pay through Flywire and have the option of paying by debit and credit card in their local currency.
Step 6: Preparation for Arrival
Before your joining date, we will send you a welcome pack. This includes our New Student Handbook and admission forms for you to complete and return to us. Overseas students requiring a visa can find out more here.
Step 7: Welcome to Cobham Hall
Prior to your daughter starting with us, she may be invited to a Familiarisation Day; a chance to get to know her fellow new starters and current students. This is usually a Saturday in June and involves meeting Lower School staff, and team-building exercises.
