Chef

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate chef to join our busy kitchen at Cobham Hall School. This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful team. Working alongside our Head Chef, you will support and prepare fresh seasonal meals for pupils and staff, as well as for functions and other showcase events held at Cobham Hall. You will be a key member of a small team and will therefore assist in maintaining our high standards of hygiene in the kitchen.

The successful candidate will be organised, able to prioritise and have a flexible approach. A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, NVQ Level 2 Chef Qualification or equivalent, and full knowledge of Heath & Safety, HACCP AND COSHH Regulations and associated Codes of Practice are essential. A minimum of two years’ catering/kitchen experience in a similar role, experience working within a fresh food background, and both high volume and fine dining experience are required, as is the ability to plan time effectively and organise with forethought, showing meticulous attention to detail.

Receptionist

We are seeking a Receptionist to act as the first point of contact for Cobham Hall School. Reporting to the School Office Manager, the Receptionist is responsible for all reception duties. This front of house role is varied and the standard of work reflects greatly on the School.

A high standard of English, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will also have good organisational skills and the ability to work on their own initiative.

A calm and approachable nature, exceptional professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion are of extreme importance. A background of working in education is desirable although not essential.

Admissions Assistant

Cobham Hall is looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Admissions Assistant to join our Admissions Office.

The Admissions Office is the first point of contact with the School for the majority of applicants, both from the UK and across the world, and for their families and agents; this busy and varied role is key to delivering the highest quality of professionalism in our customer service. Excellent administration and communication skills and a positive outlook are essential, as is the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in customer service and of working with people, and will demonstrate excellent organisational skills.

Marketing Assistant

Cobham Hall is looking to recruit a creative and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant with a passion for marketing, media and communication and a flair for design and/or photography.

Reporting to the Head of Admissions and Marketing, this multi-faceted role is key to the delivery of the School’s marketing objectives. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, brimming with ideas but with exceptional attention to detail, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is an adept multi-tasker, and has an unfailing eye for accuracy.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills and knowledge of social media platforms, as well as a proven interest in digital channels, copy writing, design or photography. This role could suit a recent graduate, but experience of working in a marketing setting would be a distinct advantage.

Driver

We are seeking a Driver, to drive School vehicles as required, collecting students from given pick-up points along a designated route and delivering them to the School (mornings); collecting students from the School and dropping them back at the designated drop off points (afternoons).

You will have a professional manner and approach, good interpersonal, communication and time management skills. A Category D licence and experience of driving a minibus are desirable but not essential.

Previous experience of working in a school is not required but would be advantageous. However, lack of experience should not discourage good applicants from applying for the position.

This is a term-time only position. The hours of work are not fixed but vary to meet the needs of the students. The current vacancy will require the driver to leave Cobham Hall at approximately 06:00 and returning at around 08:15 and then, in the evening, leaving at 16:30 and returning around 18:00. Extra time is required in the morning to carry out daily checks. Additional shifts are often available in the evenings and, occasionally, at weekends and during School holidays.
Hourly rate £11.00.

Artist-in-Residence

We require an Artist in Residence to join the Art Department for the academic year 2022/23.

The School is looking for an energetic artist who is keen to develop their own creative practice within a busy Art department and at the same time is able and willing to inspire and enthuse our students. The successful candidate is likely to have an interest in Art education. The position does not come with financial remuneration, but food, residential accommodation and studio space are provided as well as support from teaching staff and use of other School facilities.

The Art Department has two large art studios, a workshop, a Mac digital suite, photographic studio and dark- room, a kiln room and well stocked resource room. We also enjoy the services of a part-time technician.

We teach Art at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level, in small groups, and we cover a wide range of disciplines including: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, ceramics and mixed media. We are always looking to expand and develop what we offer.
