- Celebrating Exyn's Success

Exyn (Year 13) has achieved notable success in this year's highly selective John Locke Essay Competition. She has been shortlisted in the Economics category, placing her in the top 19 percent of over 63,000 candidates.
The competition challenges students to explore a wide range of complex and interesting questions beyond the confines of the School curriculum. To be shortlisted, it requires students to demonstrate independent thought, depth of knowledge, sound reasoning, critical analysis and a persuasive writing style in response to a prompt.
Exyn addressed the question 'Should Oxford lower its admissions standards for the sons and daughters of generous benefactors?’, answering with intellectual rigour and academic excellence in a compelling essay.
Being shortlisted in such a prestigious competition, drawn from a large field of applicants worldwide, represents a significant accomplishment.
In addition to her A Level studies and preparing for her ABRSM Diploma in Piano, Exyn has also been actively participating in the IEA Monetary Policy Prize and has published an independent working paper on Modelling Social Sentiment related to the Stock Market Using Markov Chains as part of a Mathematics and Economics programme.
She also attended the University of Hong Kong summer school on Business Strategies and Cross-Cultural Management and gained internship experience at the LEH Foshan summer camp.
Congratulations Exyn! What a wonderful testament to your academic curiosity and dedication.
