Cobham Hall Celebrates 2025 GCSE Results
We are delighted to share the GCSE results for the Class of 2025, which reflect the commitment and hard work of this year's cohort. As a proudly non-selective School, we are thrilled with this year's achievements. With 35% of our Year 11 cohort identified as having Special Educational Needs (SEN), these outcomes are a testament to our inclusive ethos and values.
This year, 46% of all GCSE grades were between grades 9 and 6 (equivalent to A* - B under the previous grading system), which is just under half of all results. Proudly, 66% of all grades were between 9 and 5, meaning around two-thirds of students achieved the equivalent of A* - high C grades. Across the year group, the average point score was grade 6, which is equivalent to a solid B.

Outstanding Performance
We are overjoyed to see several subjects achieving outstanding results, with 100% pass rates across Art, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Drama, PE and Physics. In terms of performance, one quarter of our students achieved the highest grades of 9 or 8 (equivalent to A*) in Art, Chemistry, Drama, Global Perspectives and Physics. These grades highlight the consistent excellence across both STEM and the Creative Arts.
In several subjects, students achieved grades 9 to 7 (A* to B). Overall, this makes our 9-7 results 10% better than the national percentage. Notable subject highlights for this grade boundary include 67% for Chemistry, 66% in Physics, 57% in Drama, 50% in Biology and 45% in Geography. Even in core subjects such as Maths, 31% of students attained this level of performance, which is a significant achievement compared to last year and for a non-selective cohort.
In the following subjects, the 9-7 results (A*-B) were double that of the national percentage: Art, Drama, and Double Science. Chemistry was also a standout, with results 30% higher than the national figure for grades 9-7.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students. Their achievements reflect their character and commitment, and we look forward to seeing the many ways in which they continue to grow and thrive in the next stage of their education.
