Inter-House Kicks off with Cross-Country

Posted: 25th November 2021

This year’s first Inter-House event took place yesterday, with the cross-country course marked out across the School grounds and students ready to tackle the 3km course.

With overcast skies, students set off across West Lawn, before heading through woodland and back to the finish line. It was delightful to see students who had completed the course surround the finish line to encourage their peers and cheer on their Houses. Students were keen to get good times and give their best, with many extending themselves and bursting forward for a sprint finish.

“It was a brilliant way to kick off this year’s inter-house events,” commented PE Teacher Miss Fautley. “We are incredibly proud of all the students and their achievements over this gruelling 3km race. Those out ahead managed to achieve some admirable times, with our winner Poppy, Year 10, finishing in 13:01. It is so great to see students from all year groups in the top 10! Well done to everyone.”

The individual top ten is as follows:

  • Poppy – Year 10
  • Natasha – Year 11
  • Mia – Year 7
  • Olivia – Year 9
  • Velvet – Year 10
  • Martha – Year 9
  • Eliza – Year 9
  • Elisabeth – Year 11
  • Olivia – Year 12
  • Aoife – Year 7

Darnley was thrilled to be the top House, with Lenox taking second, Richmond third and Clifton fourth.
