Adam Bligh, 11th Earl of Darnley, was a founding member of Cobham Hall Heritage Trust, which raises funds and works to restore the gardens and grounds of our historic home. On 9th November, the Rose Arbour, which stands in Lady Darnley’s Garden, was dedicated to his memory. The arbour was damaged in 1987 but has been returned to its former glory thanks to the Trust and the restoration team.
Lady Harriet Bligh, the Earl’s sister and former Guardian of Cobham Hall, unveiled the plaque which will now represent her brother’s legacy. We give thanks to the Trust as they continue to carry out further restorations and to support student gardeners.
